Chelsea and Cole DeBoer were familiar faces before they landed their gig on HGTV. The Down Home Fab stars previously starred on MTV’s Teen Mom 2 series. Chelsea spent 10 seasons on the show before moving on to bigger opportunities — and HGTV came calling.

Now, the couple’s show is heading into its second season — and fans are revealing their true feelings toward this reality-show couple as they gear up for season 2.

Down Home Fab sees Chelsea and Cole DeBoer redesigning homes in their home state of South Dakota. The two live in Sioux Falls with their four children, and they first started got the renovation bug when they build their dream home only a couple of years ago. Chelsea slid into HGTV’s DMs, and eventually, she and Cole had their own show. Now, fans are thrilled that season 2 is around the corner.

HGTV shared a press image of the couple on Instagram; part of the caption read, “The wait is almost over.” Fans engaged with the post in the comments, leaving so much positivity about the show.

“Very happy for her and how great she is doing in life!” one fan wrote.

“… Love me some Chelsea and Cole and I LOVE that Chelsea is not afraid to go bold and moody in her designs! So tired of the all white kitchens and bathrooms everywhere, give me some drama,” another user commented.

Someone else credited Down Home Fab as “the only HGTV show I’ll watch.”

Chelsea first appeared on MTV more than a decade ago; her name was Chelsea Houska, and she was a teenager pregnant with her first child and in a toxic relationship with ex Adam Lind. Fans have loved to see how far DeBoer has come and how she’s built the life she wanted for herself.

“You guys look great! I loved watching your story Chelsea and now I love watch you, Cole, and the kids do your thing!” a fan wrote on HGTV’s photo.

Chelsea and Cole recently appeared on Jennifer Hudson’s daytime talk show, where Chelsea talked about her former life as a Teen Mom star. “When I look back, it doesn’t even feel like that was my life … It feels like it was forever ago,” she said. “I’m able to look back and just be so appreciative to watch the journey … It’s very rare that you’re able to revisit all the things that made you who you are.”

In 2014, Chelsea met Cole at a gas station, and the two started dating shortly after. They have since wed and welcomed there more kids. “When I look back, it doesn’t even feel like that was my life … it feels like it was forever ago,” Chelsea said. Despite that she’s grown in so many ways, she continues to be thankful for the opportunities the show gave her.

“I’m able to look back and just be so appreciative to watch the journey,” she continued. “It’s very rare that you’re able to revisit all the things that made you who you are. I think it just helps me appreciate where I am now and everything that I’ve gone through. I feel like it’s cool.”

Interestingly, HGTV did not come calling. Rather, Chelsea admitted that she sent the network a DM on Instagram, letting them know that she was ready to “make the transition” from MTV to HGTV. Chelsea and Cole started an Instagram account while building their dream home, which likely helped build their case for a show.

The couple’s first season premiered in 2023 and was an instant hit. They were quickly signed on for a season 2, which premieres on March 21. These days, Chelsea and Cole live on a farm with their four kids. Cole considers Aubree like his own daughter, and the family of six has settled into life among the farm animals. The couple said they love their lifestyle, with Chelsea adding that she would absolutely “recommend” that anyone considering a farm take the plunge. Chelsea and Cole have built quite a life together, sharing three children (along with Chelsea’s daughter with Adam Lind, Aubree) and building their dream home in South Dakota. And it all started when the two locked eyes at a gas station.

Those who have been following Chelsea’s journey as a teen mom probably remember her toxic relationship with ex Adam Lind, which played out on the show. Fans always wanted the best for her, and it turns out she found her dream man while getting gas in South Dakota.

“I was getting gas one day, and she came pulling up and got gas at the pump next to me,” Cole recalled during a 2023 HGTV interview.

“A few days later, he messaged me on Facebook because he knew who I was,” Chelsea added. “And I was freaking out because I was like, ‘The gas station guy messaged me.’”

“And now we have four children, and we’re doing this,” Cole said.

The two also explained that they didn’t exchange words at the gas station but were both heading in the same direction when they were done. Cole said that he’d drive up next to her and steal a glance, almost as if to let her know he was interested. Chelsea added that she watched him pull off toward his home, and she and her friend would drive around the area over the next few days trying to spot him.

The two hit it off immediately after meeting, and Cole moved in with Chelsea and her daughter after about a year of dating. “We loved that it’s on the outskirts of Sioux Falls yet so easily accessible,” Chelsea told SiouxFalls.Business about choosing the location. “There are so many amazing surrounding communities; it felt like the perfect midway point for everyone.”

The announcement was made on Instagram in 2023, and all it said was that the store would open in 2024. The store will carry home décor, furniture, and also items from their Aubree Says line, which is another leg of their décor brand that caters to kids and families.

As of January 17, the store was coming along but had nothing more than some drywall and cement. It suggests it will still be at least a few more months before it’s open for business.

HGTV star Mina Starsiak Hawk is no longer on speaking terms with fellow Good Bones cast member Cory Miller. She opened up about the status of their friendship on a recent episode of her podcast.

Starsiak Hawk co-hosted Good Bones with her mom, Karen Laine. Miller is a contractor who appeared on the show. At some point, fans noticed that Starsiak Hawk and Miller were no longer following each other on Instagram, prompting her to address the status of their relationship on her podcast.

“So, there’s been enough questions about Cory that I’m going to try to address this in a respectful way, again, understanding that I have a platform that he maybe doesn’t have,” she said in the Dec. 11 episode of Mina AF. “Cory and I are not on speaking terms. I am positive that there are things he feels like I did to him, and I’ve known him since he was 11, and I’ve always had a soft spot for him.”

The home renovation pro didn’t go into details about what led to her falling out with Miller. But she did say that there were “a couple things that happened towards the end” that she couldn’t “move on from.”

As for why she no longer follows Miller on social media? “I just don’t want that energy in my life,” she said. She explained that she didn’t want to “hate follow” her former co-star and wanted to “separate” him from her world.

The situation is a “super bummer,” Starsiak Hawk said, stressing that she was only sharing her version of events and acknowledging that Miller likely had a different perspective on how things played out.

Miller addressed his relationship with Starsiak Hawk in the comments of a social media post earlier this year. In May, he told a fan on Instagram that while they no longer worked together everything between them was “great.”

‘Good Bones’ isending after eight seasons

Good Bones recently wrapped up its run after eight seasons on HGTV.

“It’s the end of an era,” Starsiak Hawk said when announcing her news in an August episode of her podcast. “I mean, I had to say goodbye to some people today that I have spent my last almost 10 years with.”

She added that the combined pressures of filming the show and managing multiple renovations eventually became too much.

“All the things that I was putting on myself, it was making it really, really hard to function as, like, a normal human being,” she said.

While Starsiak Hawk appears to be stepping away from TV, Miller has hinted that he might still continue to work with the network. When a fan commented on a November Instagram post that they missed seeing him on HGTV, he replied, “Not over yet!”

Big changes are coming to one of HGTV’s longest-running shows. Love It or List It co-host Hilary Farr is leaving the show after 17 seasons.

Farr, a home design expert, has spent more than a decade on Love It or List It. The show follows her and co-host David Visentin as they help frustrated homeowners decide whether to stay in their current house or buy a new property. The pair have a friendly rivalry, with Farr trying to convince people that her updates will allow them to stay in their current space while Visentin attempts to persuade them to buy a new home better suited to their needs.

Now, after appearing in 258 episodes of the show since 2011, Farr has decided it’s time to move on.

“It’s been a wonderful 12 years. I’m so grateful to the network for their support and to my fans who have stayed loyal and true. David and I will remain friends forever and I expect him to be as fabulously and hilariously annoying as ever,” Farr said in a statement. “Love It or List It has had such a true impact on so many lives, including mine, but now it’s time for me to embrace new challenges that have come my way. If this is my legacy, it’s a great one.”

Despite their onscreen rivalry, Farr and Visentin developed a strong friendship over the years, which he hopes will continue even after she leaves the show.

“Working with Hilary has been a wild, unforgettable ride. I’d like to forget the mountain of ‘love its’ but hey, she’s a talented lady,” Visentin said in a statement. “Although we were rivals on the show, we became quick friends and share countless memories both on and off set. I look forward to continuing that friendship and wish her all the best in everything she does.”

The HGTV star teases an exciting announcement

While Farr is leaving Love It or List It, she’s not retiring. In an Instagram post announcing her departure, she teased new projects.

“The news is out! Can’t wait to share what’s next — stay tuned! Love you all,” she wrote.

Visentin commented on Farr’s post to let his former co-star know he wished her the best in her new endeavors.

“I will be phoning you regularly to soften your ‘David withdrawal’. No need to thank me…it’s what friends do. You will be missed! Congratulations,” he wrote.

In addition to Love It or List It, Farr also hosts a solo series, Tough Love With Hilary Farr, on HGTV. It follows Farr as she devises creative solutions to homeowners’ housing woes by redesigning their existing living space. The second season premiered in September 2023, and Farr has expressed interest in a second season.

Is ‘Love It or List It’ canceled?

Although Farr is moving on, Love It or List It has not been canceled. HGTV “looks forward to a new chapter” for the show, the network’s head of content Loren Ruch said in a statement.

In the meantime, Farr’s fans can stream every episode of both Love It or List It and Tough Love with Hilary Farr on Max.

Chip Gaines Said There Was ‘No Strategy’ in Growing Magnolia Brand

HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines attained fame via their reality TV show, Fixer Upper. And they managed to expand their Magnolia empire in Waco, Texas, to create a multimillion-dollar brand. Fans love seeing what Chip and Joanna are up to next, as they appear to have a clear and distinct path forward. But Chip admitted that there was “no strategy” in expanding Magnolia in the way that he and Joanna did.

Building an empire like Magnolia is no easy feat, and Chip and Joanna Gaines put their all into their business. Before the success of Fixer Upper in 2013, Chip and Joanna started Magnolia in 2003. It then evolved into including Magnolia Market, Silos Baking Co., Magnolia Table, Magnolia Press Coffee Co., Magnolia Journal, Magnolia Realty, Magnolia Vacation Rentals, and Magnolia Home, to name a few businesses.

Chip spoke to Kennebec Cabin Company in 2023 about his experience growing the company. While he and Joanna established the company, it takes a village to run. “It’s gotten big now,” Chip said. “We refer to our company as a small business. It’s really, probably, technically not. Jo and I are small business operators. That’s who we are; that’s the thread that we view the world through.”

Chip then said that he and Joanna never aimed to grow Magnolia to the extent it’s grown. “For us, it was kind of day by day, one foot in front of the other. Back in the early days … we probably had 10, 15 employees total. … Those folks and us, we were in the same ditch. We were in the mud together. … You sincerely feel like a team out in the trenches. … Dozens of those early, early employees are still with us today.”

Chip added that he and Joanna employ over 500 employees in 2023. While the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic affected the employment numbers slightly, the couple needs people to help with their large-scale operation. And when people ask Chip and Joanna how they scaled Magnolia to such great heights, Chip ensures them that he and Joanna didn’t have a clear strategy.

“Looking back in the rearview mirror, everybody says, ‘What was the plan?’ and ‘How do you strategically develop something like this?’ I’m like, there was no strategy,” he added.

The ‘Fixer Upper’ couple expanded their Waco, Texas, empire with Hotel 1928

Chip and Joanna Gaines are expanding Magnolia again with a new project that fans can stay in starting in November 2023. Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas, ensures fans will get the experience of a lifetime while staying near the Magnolia headquarters.

“Magnolia founders Chip and Joanna Gaines, together with AJ Capital, have re-envisioned this historic building to create a hospitality experience with 33 guest rooms, dining, over 6,600 square feet of event space, a rooftop terrace, and a retail shop featuring exclusive Magnolia-designed Hotel 1928 merchandise,” the hotel website reads.

Chip and Joanna show their entire journey of restoring the building in their new miniseries, Fixer Upper: The Hotel, also set to debut in November.

“When you think about a 50,000-square-foot hotel remodel, I mean, this is the big leagues,” Chip says in the trailer of the new miniseries. “This is what you dream about. And I think Jo and I are out of our element, to some extent, but I think we’re up for the challenge.”

‘Bargain Block’ Stars Reflect on ‘Best Accidental Error’ in Their Career [Exclusive]

HGTV Bargain Block house-flipping stars Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas admit they had no idea what they were in for when they moved from Denver, Colorado to Detroit, Michigan.

The construction and design couple found house flipping in Denver “cost prohibitive” so they sought an emerging market with promise: Detroit.

“The market was really tricky to navigate and you had to have just so much cash. So we were looking for a market that would have made our job a little easier,” Bynum explained to Showbiz Cheat Sheet.

“So a little over six years ago I flew out on my birthday actually to Detroit, never been here,” he admitted. “Saw eight houses. Put offers on two, we got one of them and we sold our place in Colorado and moved out here. We thought the house was livable, but it wasn’t. It looked nice from the outside. And then when I got here, we broke into it, it was like … really bad. So that was kind of our start.”

‘Bargain Block’ was born from a happy accident

Rather than throw in the towel, Bynum and Thomas met this new challenge with gusto but were shocked when they dove into the deep end of the Detroit market.

“It was like the best error that you could have possibly made. Like the best accidental error. Or we just made the best of an error, I don’t know,” Bynum said. “But the reason that we moved out here actually was I was looking at houses in Detroit and in Denver, all the houses across city borders stayed the same price per square foot.”

“So I just assumed looking at these now, what I was looking at is 10,000, $5,000 houses in Detroit and then seeing Ferndale literally right across the street, right with a comp of $220,000,” Bynum explained. “I was telling Evan, this is too good to be true. And then, of course, the house sold for $64,000 across the street. The same exact house was sold for $220,000. And so then I became enraged.”

The couple are true Detroiters now

Bynum’s rage quickly shifted to resilience. “It was so frustrating to see something so devalued that there was nothing different other than a street and a city name. So that was what was so irritating to me,” he said. “So here we are, like 70-something houses later. And, we really try to show people that it’s one of the best cities that you can live in. And there’s a really great opportunity if you are a new homeowner for sure. It’s a really cool place. I love it.”

The couple are now true Detroiters, soaking in the culture, food, art scene, and the people who make Detroit an amazing place to live. They are also tackling groups of neglected homes, one street at a time, and love how Detroit is getting a spotlight on Bargain Block.

“We always put in all new electrical, all new plumbing,” Thomas said. “Often times new HVAC and there’s always a new room. There’s oftentimes a lot of new framing and a lot of new drywall. All new windows. I have seen people actually comment online wondering if we put in all-new electrical because it’s not shown on TV and we definitely do.”

Essentially, Bargain Block allows the duo to bring a dilapidated home to life and essentially create a new home. Bargain Block Season 3 continues to feature Thomas and Bynum’s renovations, plus this season they tease an added bonus. “There’s some really fun surprise guests on some of the other episodes to watch for, coming up. We had a lot of fun. So definitely there are some really fun pop-ins,” Thomas added.

HGTV’s Bargain Block is on Wednesday and available to stream the next day on Max®.

Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Hotel 1928 isn’t cheap for Fixer Upper fans. The hotel’s design, with its square rooftop and brick features, stood out to Chip and Joanna — and their redesign gives the structure new life.

“For us, this project represents everything we are most passionate about — hospitality, restoration, and home,” Chip and Joanna wrote on the hotel’s website. “We’ve always been firm believers in the value of home, as a place but also as a feeling. Our dream for this hotel is that it would serve as an extension of home to every guest who comes to stay.”

The newly renovated hotel comes with a price. It contains 33 rooms and four suites — the Franklin, the Austin, the Columbus, and the Washington. Every room offers free Wi-Fi, 24-hour front desk service, a flat-screen TV, a minibar, daily room service, bathroom amenities, and daily housekeeping.

The Franklin has either one king-size bed or two queen beds along with one bathroom. The room comfortably fits two people. As for the price, the Franklin starts at about $412 per night.

The Austin offers more space than the Franklin, though it contains just one king bed and one bathroom. This room starts at $434.50 per night.

The Columbus suite also only sleeps two with one king bed and one bathroom, but it offers even more space than the Austin. The starting rate for the Columbus is $456.50 per night.

Finally, the Washington offers room for a whole family (and then some). The Washington is Hotel 1928’s most extensive suite and contains one king bed and one queen bed, one sofa bed, two twin beds, and two bunk beds, comfortably sleeping 10 people. The Washington is fully booked through 2024, as per the website. Thus, the price for the largest suite is not shown. However, given the size and amenities included, those who book the room could expect to spend at least triple or quadruple the price of the other rooms and suites.

The hotel features 3 restaurants, a library, and a retail shop

Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Hotel 1928 is a pricey stay. But visitors will likely love the hotel’s other amenities, including three restaurants, a library, and a retail shop. Additionally, the hotel stands near Magnolia Market.

One of the Hotel 1928 restaurants, Bertie’s, is on the rooftop. “Full of nostalgic charm and rooftop views to elevate the day, Bertie’s on the Rooftop serves seasonal dishes that bring people together,” the website reads.

Visitors who want classic Texas fare may wish to visit The Brasserie. The Brasserie offers “Southern classics with a Texas twist.

Finally, visitors on the go can head to The Café at Hotel 1928 for “coffee, baked goods, and light bites.” Visitors can enjoy their coffee in the hotel’s two-story library.

Because of the open spaces that Hotel 1928 offers, Chip and Joanna also encourage guests to rent out the space for events. “The library and board room can be configured for meetings, while our café area or any of our restaurants can be used for groups that want to gather over food,” the website notes. “All in addition to our ballroom, which has optimal space for banquets, theater-style presentations, and networking events.”

Christina married Josh Hall in 2022, and she and her last husband, Ant Anstead, divorced in 2020. More recently, engagement rumors swirled around Anstead and Renée Zellweger. And Christina just posted a photo of the young son she shares with Anstead.

Christina Hall shares photos of her husband, Josh Hall, and kids on social media. On Aug. 1, 2023, the Christina on the Coast star posted photos of her son, Hudson, 3, to Instagram. The photos show Hudson standing on a rock with his arms out and excitedly climbing a tree.

“This cutie,” Christina captioned the post. “So full of personality and imagination. Always on the go and keeping us on our toes.”

Fans adore seeing Hudson on Christina’s feed, as he’s her youngest son — and he’s also the only child she shares with her ex-husband, Ant Anstead. A few weeks before Christina posted the photo of Hudson, rumors swirled that Anstead and his long-time actor girlfriend, Renée Zellweger, were secretly engaged. Anstead and Zellweger began dating in June 2021 and moved in together in spring 2023.

So, are Zellweger and Anstead engaged? The rumors remain rumors for now, though it seems likely that the couple’s headed down that path. A source shared that the couple plans on keeping their future private.

“Renee and Ant are keeping their plans incredibly private; they’re not planning a big public announcement,” their friend told The Sun. “She has been telling her inner circle about organizing their nuptials; everything will be very low-key. Her relationship with Ant is super strong, and they’re madly in love, and they can’t wait to get hitched.”

Christina Hall and Ant Anstead work well as co-parents, and their son, Hudson, gets along well with Christina’s current husband, Josh Hall. “He does a lot of projects himself too, and the boys just love being involved, especially Hudson,” Christina told People of Josh. “He just follows Josh around, just asking Josh, ‘Hey, what are we doing now? What can I help you with?’ He is 3, and that’s really what happens.”

“It just feels nice to have that family unit be settled,” the Christina on the Coast star added. “That’s all that Hudson will ever know, is Josh as his stepdad. [Hudson] will never have different memories as far as Josh and I being together, and pretty much Brayden as well.”

So, will Christina and Josh have kids of their own? “We’re done here,” Christina stated. “I can’t even imagine that. I think my head would fall off. We’re happy with the three. We’re good.”
